Competitive Debate has been improving the intelligence of societies for millennia. Thought to have been born in ancient Greece as a means for discovery philosophical theories and adopted by parliament to consider opposing arguments. The essence of competitive debate has not changed, to have a moderate format for ‘fighting out opposing’ views. The need for debate has changed from predominately legislative assemblies to corporate meeting rooms.
